About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Bureau of Reclamation for market research purposes regarding potential procurement of dredging equipment and related components. The notice indicates an anticipated need date of September 30, 2026, and solicits responses under NAICS code 333120 (Construction machinery manufacturing). The Bureau is requesting Capability Statements from interested companies, including socio-economic status and Total Small Business designations if applicable, to be submitted to Contracting Specialist Melissa Parkison at melissa_parkison@ios.doi.gov by August 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM Mountain Daylight Time.

The notice describes four line items for potential procurement: (1) a pontoon-mounted dredge equivalent to or better than a Piranha Pump 135E, featuring dual pumps (8-horsepower dredge pump and 5.5-horsepower agitator pump) with suction and discharge hoses, capable of operating at depths up to 14 feet, and mounted on a modular flotation pontoon weighing 395 pounds or less; (2) a standalone booster pump meeting identical specifications to the dredge pump (8-horsepower, 165 gpm at 60 feet Total Dynamic Head); (3) spare parts for the dredge pump including impeller, casing, wear plate, mechanical seal, and o-rings; and (4) extra hose sections totaling 775 feet of 3-inch PVC discharge and suction/discharge hose with quick disconnect couplings. The Government makes no commitment to issue a Request for Quotation, award a contract, or reimburse response expenses, and responses will not be returned.

Sources Sought Notice

This is a Sources Sought Notice for a tentative requirement for a pontoon mounted dredge as further defined in the Salient Characteristics below. As part of the Bureau of Reclamation’s information and planning purposes, the draft Salient Characteristics describes only the current contemplated possible supply required and may vary in the final Performance Work Statement included in any Request for Quotation (RFQ).

The anticipated need by date is September 30, 2026.

A Request for Quotation using NAICS 333120, Construction machinery manufacturing.

This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of the Bureau of Reclamation’s market research. A Request for Quotation does not currently exist. The Bureau of Reclamation is not required to use SAM.gov for any resulting RFQ.

Responses to this Sources Sought are not quotes to which the Bureau of Reclamation can issue any awards. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The Government does not intend to award a purchase order/contract based only on responses to this Sources Sought.

All information received in response to this Sources Sought marked “Proprietary” will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response.
