About this file
This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is a market research document issued by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, seeking potential manufacturing/supply sources for a COOLER,LUBRICATING component (NSN: 2935-01-112-2978, Part Number: 145DS517-1) supporting the CH-47 CHINOOK weapon system. The acquisition is currently being processed under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) as a single-source procurement, with the government noting that the rights to use the required data cannot be purchased or developed from alternative sources, and reverse engineering is uneconomical.
The synopsis invites businesses, including 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns, to identify themselves as potential sources. Potential contractors must meet prequalification requirements and will be responsible for comprehensive manufacturing/production processes, including supply chain management, logistics, parts forecasting, long-lead parts procurement, material forecasting, obsolescence management, and final asset delivery. Interested firms are encouraged to seek source approval via AvMC's public website (https://www.avmc.army.mil/Directorates/SRD/TechDataMgmt). The document explicitly states that this is an informational notice and does not constitute a formal solicitation or guarantee of future contract award.
