STATEMENT OF NEED
POWDER COATING BOOTH
FOR
NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION
AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS CENTER
POC: John Harrison, 863-500-3915
John.Harrison@noaa.gov Cell: 813-244-8353
Scope of Work:
The NOAA Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) needs our existing paint booth converted into a powder coating booth.
The chosen vendor must convert the paint booth into a cartridge collector style system using collector modules and cartridge filters. The collected powder must then be collected into a removable fluidized bed. The entire system must meet all OSHA compliance mandates.
NOTE: An on-site visit is required to submit a proposal/bid. The time and date for the site visit is TBD, however, there will only be 1 opportunity for a site visit.
Vendor must:
- Determine the appropriate SCFM and static pressure
- Retro fit (install) the entire collector system into the current paint booth structure. The current paint booth dimensions are as follows:
-- Spray Booth: 151 inches (W) x 120 inches (L) x 100 inches (H) -- Fan vacuum structure (attached to rear of the spray booth): 121 inches (W) x 34 inches (L) x 84 inches (H)
- Install a Timer Activated Pulse/Purge Control
- Install a Variable Frequency Drive
- Install cartridge filters
- Install collector system
- Provide on-site training on system use, to include a hands-on actual powder coating demonstration
The installed system must come with the following features:
- Start and stop the fan, turn the lights on or off, and switch between manual or auto pulse down.
- Air pressure switches that monitor the status of the final filters and will alert the operator via a red LED indicator once the filters are clogged.
- If the air pressure exceeds the maximum setting, the control panel will shut down the fans for safety and the operator must change the filters to start the fan again.
- Monitors the status of the cartridge filters with user adjustable pressure switches.
- Auto pulse-down if the air pressure differential exceeds manufactures specifications
- Manual override to pulse continuously
- A magnehelic gauge mounted on the control cabinet mailto:John.Harrison@noaa.gov
- Interlock terminals for fire suppression, door limit switches, light lens limit switches, and spray air solenoid.
- Ability to control the Variable Frequency Drive to adjust the CFM.
- Removable fluidized bed
NOAA will:
- Provide the required electrical supply to power the collector system
- Provide the required fire suppression system
- Provide necessary connections to alert the local Fire Department
- Off-load vendors equipment (and store if necessary)
- Pay freight shipping
Description of Product:
- Must be Brand New
- Must meet all applicable OSHA specifications, criteria, and mandates
- Must be fully assembled, installed, tested, and demonstrated by the chosen vendor (on-site) prior to acceptance
Warranty
- 2 year parts and labor
- Provide any user manuals, repair manuals and warranty information
