About this file
This Statement of Need (SON) dated 6 February 2025 outlines the 6 Communications Squadron's requirement for 54 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units at MacDill Air Force Base. The specific equipment includes 54 APC SMX2000RMLV2UNC (or equivalent) 2000VA/1800W UPS units with 7 battery and surge outlets, rack mountable, 17" wide, and 54 EATON PDUMH20-ISO (or equivalent) PDU METERED 1.92KW ISOBAR SURGE 20A units. These UPS systems are critical for protecting network switches that provide AFNet and VoIP services by ensuring power filtering and proper shutdown during power outage events.
Delivery requirements specify the equipment must be delivered to Building 261 at MacDill AFB within 90 days of contract award, with customer service available during normal duty hours (0800-1600 Monday through Friday), excluding federal holidays. The procurement includes a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, and the document emphasizes that while specific manufacturers are listed, they are not the sole acceptable brands. The delivery point of contact is TSgt Scott Erway or TSgt Sabrina Young, and vendors should call 813-828-0000 for base access assistance. The delivery location has a dock but no dock leveler or lift.
