Statement of Need
Cable Braider
McConnell AFB, Kansas
1. Overview
1.1 The 22d MXG requires a cable braider that can support local braiding of cables, wires, and tubing.
IAW Technical Order 1-1A-14, 22d MXG requires a braider from Wardwell within the below specs. To support the aircraft currently assigned to McConnell, a B10-24H is needed.
2. Requirements
2.1. Specifications:
Carrier Wire and Textile Application
Frame construction Tubular Steel
Decibel Rating 80dB max preferred, no higher than 100dB allowed
Gearing Self-lubricating horn gears
Stopping Motion Machine automatically stops at end of bobbins or material break
Number of carriers Must have 24carriers
Wire bundle range in inches Must be configurable to anything between and including ¼ - ½ Inch
Drive System Direct drive variable speed motor with foot pedal
Drive Motor Power ½ HP minimum
Operating Station Configured with Start, Jog, Stop, & E-stop buttons
Operation Axis Vertical
3. Warranty
3.1 The contractor shall provide a warranty for a minimum of six months from the date of delivery and covers defects in materials and workmanship, and malfunctions or failures due to manufacturing errors.
4. Delivery
4.1 The contractor shall complete delivery within 180 days after receipt of purchase order.
