About this file

This is a Statement of Need memorandum from the 427th Reconnaissance Squadron requesting procurement of MetroNaps EnergyPods to address operational fatigue management requirements. The squadron requires a dedicated fatigue recovery system with specific characteristics including scientifically optimized pod design for 20-minute power naps, ergonomic reclined positioning, acoustic privacy dome with ambient noise masking, integrated timed waking system with vibration and ambient light, tamper-resistant commercial-grade construction, and configurable time settings with secure administrative controls.

The related pre-solicitation (FA468625Q0042) indicates this is a sources sought notice only, not an actual solicitation, with no contract to be awarded from this inquiry. The 9th Contracting Squadron at Beale Air Force Base is seeking information from qualified sources and their size classifications for potential future procurement. The anticipated contract action would be a firm-fixed price brand name award, though vendors with solutions that meet or exceed requirements are encouraged to respond. Interested parties must submit capabilities statements, specifications sheets, and applicable GSA schedules by August 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. PDT to the designated contracting personnel via email.

Requirements: Our mission tempo and shift schedules create high cognitive demand, often with extended duty hours. To reduce the operational impact of fatigue and improve alertness, we require a dedicated fatigue recovery system with the following characteristics:

· Scientifically optimized pod design for 20-minute power naps

· Ergonomic reclined positioning to elevate lower extremities and reduce circulatory stress

· Acoustic privacy dome and ambient noise masking

· Integrated timed waking system with vibration and ambient light

· Tamper-resistant, commercial-grade construction for shared military/government use

· Configurable time settings with secure administrative controls
