SATISFACTION OF THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER PRIOR TO CASTING OF THE CONCRETE.
7. NO EXCAVATION SHALL BE PERMITTED ADJACENT TO A FOOTING WITHIN A LINE MEASURED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOTING AT A SLOPE OF 3:1 (3 HORIZONTAL TO 1 VERTICAL) TO THE PROPOSED
EXCAVATION. PROVIDE SHORING AND PROTECTION FOR EXCAVATION BANKS AS NECESSARY TO
PRESERVE SAFETY AND PREVENT CAVING.
8. ALL BEARING STRATA SHALL BE ADEQUATELY DRAINED BEFORE FOUNDATION CONCRETE IS PLACED.
9. THERE SHALL BE NO HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL CONSTRUCTION JOINTS IN ANY FOUNDATION WITHOUT
PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
10.CONCRETE CAST ON SLOPING SURFACES SHALL BEGIN AT THE LOWEST ELEVATION AND CONTINUE
MONOLITHICALLY TOWARD THE HIGHER ELEVATION UNTIL THE INTENDED POUR IS COMPLETED.
D. CONCRETE:
1. ALL CONCRETE WORK SHALL CONFORM TO ACI 301 "SPECIFICATIONS FOR STRUCTURAL CONCRETE
FOR BUILDINGS". DESIGN IS BASED ON ACI 318 "BUILDING CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR REINFORCED
CONCRETE".

FOLLOWING:
LOCATION STRENGTH
TRUCK WELL INFILL 4,000 PSI
ALL OTHER CONCRETE 6,000 PSI
3. ALL CONCRETE WITH A MINIMUM STRENGTH OF 6,000 PSI OR GREATER IS TO BE FIBER-REINFORCED CONCRETE (FRC). PRODUCTION OF FRC SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST EDITION OF ACI 544.3R AND
ADDED FIBERS SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST EDITION OF ASTM C1116.

BE 3/4"
6. MIXING WATER SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM C1602.
7. CONCRETE SLUMP SHALL BE 3" ± 1".
8. FIBERS FOR FRC SHALL BE SIKAFIBER NOVOCON CHE-6535 AT A DOSAGE OF 50 LBS/CY. ALTERNATE
FIBER AND DOSAGE COMBINATIONS MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR
APPROVAL.
9. THE PROPOSED MATERIALS AND MIX DESIGN SHALL BE FULLY DOCUMENTED AND REVIEWED BY AN INDEPENDENT TESTING LABORATORY, AND SUBMITTED TO THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER FOR REVIEW A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO USE. RESPONSIBILITY FOR OBTAINING THE REQUIRED DESIGN
STRENGTH IS THE CONTRACTOR'S.
10. ALL MIXING, TRANSPORTING, PLACING AND CURING OF CONCRETE SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE AMERICAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE.
