About this file
This is a Solicitation Attachment containing detailed specifications for a portable storage trailer required by the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC). The specified unit is a standard 20-foot by 8-foot by 8.5-foot Conex shipping container configured as a climate-controlled storage container. The container must feature interior spray foam insulation (flame retardant and mold resistant), a single vestibule with water drain on the front end, and security features including an X10 security lock on the interior entrance door. The unit requires four lift hooks for safe overhead crane lifting, D-rings for transportation tie-down, and exterior identification plates. Exterior color must be desert tan with interior walls and ceiling in semi-gloss white, and the flooring in charcoal with non-skid adhesive strips.
The specifications mandate environmental control through a wall-mounted, self-contained electric heating and air conditioning unit sized to maintain 70°F in temperatures up to 120°F, enclosed in an exterior security enclosure. The container must include a minimum of four 15-inch by 4-inch covered wall vents with ballistic and physical security protection, screens to exclude insects, and interior closeable louvers. Lighting requirements include LED fixtures throughout the interior, exterior, and vestibule, with motion-activated lights in the vestibule and exterior. Electrical specifications require wiring for a 50-amp generator as secondary power source, standard four-outlet receptacles on each end and side wall, and additional two-outlet receptacles in the service entrance enclosure and under the breaker panel on separate circuits. The design must include space allocation for future installation of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) near specified outlets.
