Statement of Work for Piping to be further inspected and cleaned.
Project Overview: The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to outline the scope, deliverables, and terms of engagement for Plumbing Company to be provided descaling and inspection of main building pipes. This project aims to further assess whether piping underneath station building will need to be replaced, repaired, or the interior cleaning to be sufficient.
1.0 GENERAL
1.1 BACKGROUND
Station St. Ignace's main building has been experiencing inconsistent but persistent issues related to grey water odors and occasional flooding. Specifically, foul grey water smells have been reported in the OIC office and laundry room, varying in intensity from barely noticeable to strongly unpleasant. In February, the building experienced flooding from drains in the EPO office, laundry room, ENG shop, and galley. This flooding was attributed to clogged pipes in the city's lift stations, which exacerbated the problem. Given these recurring issues, it is crucial to conduct a thorough inspection and assessment of the building’s plumbing system. The objective is to identify and address the root causes of the grey water smells and ensure that the plumbing infrastructure is functioning correctly to prevent future flooding and odor problems. This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the necessary steps for a contractor to investigate the plumbing system in detail, determine the source of the grey water odors, and recommend solutions to rectify the issues.
