About this file

This document is a Sole Source Determination for a cable television services contract for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector. The contract is for a renewal of cable television services at 10 stations and departments. The estimated cost is undisclosed.

The sole source determination is based on the existing equipment and services being proprietary to Spectrum, the only main digital landline cable television service provider in the RGV area. Changing to a new cable provider would interfere with daily operations and would not be cost effective. The anticipated price will be determined fair and reasonable based on price analysis techniques such as comparison to previous prices or current price lists.

The related federal contract opportunity is a special notice indicating CBP's intent to issue a sole source contract to Charter Communications Operating LLC for cable television services at the RGV Sector. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. Interested contractors must submit a capabilities statement to the Contract Specialist by the response date.
