“New jobs created” refers to the number of all new full time, part time and seasonal jobs, as well as registered farmers and sole proprietors, a result of SBEP linked activities.
Direct jobs are jobs in a company.
Indirect jobs are jobs created in the company’s suppliers and distributors.
Induced jobs are jobs resulting from direct and indirect employees spending more money.*

“Retained jobs” refers to the number of jobs retained within entities that are directly supported, as well as those that are indirectly affected by strengthening their supply chain, as a result of SBEP linked activities.

US$36,012,461 mobilized within the Grow More Corn initiative: this includes US$3,996,111 allocated in the National Program for Financial Support of Rural Development for the procurement of drip irrigation systems for corn, sunflower and fodder; US$20 million made available through the DCA (Development Credit Authority) as a guarantee fund covering bank loans to agribusinesses over the next 10 years; US$12,016,350 government funds allocated for the development of irrigation systems rehabilitation and expansion.

Of all SBEP’s initiatives implemented, the following are considered to have a significant impact for the development of the rural economy in the targeted regions:
Grow More Corn initiative;
Macedonia Adventure Travel initiative;
LEADER / LAG initiative;
Wild-Gathered Products initiative;
Irrigation initiative;
Women in Business initiative.
These six initiatives were SBEP’S flagship initiatives, resulting in a systematic change in a situation of a depressed economy in the rural parts of the country.
* The number of initiatives over the life of the project, that have had significant impact is six, as the majority of them were being implemented throughout the duration of SBEP.

US$37,462,199 of combined revenues were facilitated within the Grow More Corn initiative. The majority of revenues come from increased production of corn as a result of using drip irrigation and consequently selling more milk.
US$199,267 of combined revenues facilitated within the Wild Gathered Products initiative.
US$1,377,662 of combined revenues among local companies within the Light Manufacturing initiative, as a result of the buyer-supplier matchmaking facilitated by SBEP.
US$155,475 of combined revenues of the women owned and/or managed small businesses included in the Women in Business initiative, facilitated by SBEP.
US$1,610,053 of combined revenues facilitated within the Adventure Travel initiative. The majority of this figure (US$956,215) is attributable to estimated combined revenues for the local adventure tourism industry members as a result of the media exposure of
Macedonia and the region as an adventure destination worth an estimated US$2,549,907. Other revenues stem from all the adventure travel activities and events supported throughout the life of SBEP.

FY2014:
The average monthly income of the wild herb collectors in 2012 was US$198 (MKD 8,934). After the establishment of the wild herbs collection center Mebi-Prima as well as the wild herbs collection center in Vrben in 2014 and the continuous collaboration between the collection centers and the wild herb collectors, their average monthly income has increased to US$271 (MKD 12,222). That results in a 36.86% income growth.
FY2015:
The average monthly income of the collectors who work with the collection center Mebi-Prima and the collection center in the village of Vrben in 2015 was US$ 294 (MKD 16,153). This results in 48.5% increase since 2012, and 8.5% since 2014.
FY2016:
The average monthly income of the collectors who work with the collection center in the village of Vrben in 2016 was US$ 281 (MKD 15,174). This results in 42% increase since 2012, and 4.4% decrease since 2015.
