About this file

This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) from the Bureau of Land Management's National Interagency Fire Center (BLM NIFC) for Rabbit Valley Aerial Seeding in Mesa County, Colorado. The solicitation seeks a contractor to perform aerial seeding of 1,260 acres with a native plant seed mix, using GPS-guided aircraft during the period of January 15, 2025 to March 15, 2025. The seed mix includes species such as squirreltail, ricegrass, saltbush, yarrow, flax, wheatgrass, and bluegrass, totaling 13,900 pounds of seed.

Key requirements include using aircraft equipped with a differential GPS guidance system, distributing seed at 11 pounds per acre, and conducting the seeding when at least one inch of sustainable snow has accumulated. Quotes are due by 10:00 AM Mountain Time on January 6, 2026, to be submitted via email to the Contracting Specialist Daniel Rosales. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses, and contractors must complete technical and past performance evaluations in addition to providing pricing information. The project aims to reseed areas burned by the Rabbit Valley Fire, with an emphasis on uniform seed distribution and minimal environmental impact.
