STATEMENT OF WORK

Background

The Guam Magnetic Observatory was constructed in 1966-67 on Anderson Air Force Base property on the northwest side of the island of Guam. The observatory contains 6 buildings on approximately 31 acres of land. The buildings currently include two Quarters Buildings, a Shop/Garage Building, a Variations Building, an Absolutes Building, and an Office Building (Fig. 1).

Quarters 1 (Q1) is a 1,393 square foot reinforced concrete structure (Fig. 2 and 4). Q1 is a single level structure that contains several rooms including a kitchen, two bathrooms, and four bedrooms. It was built in 1967 to replace a temporary wood frame house that was previously located on the same site from circa 1961.

Quarters 2 (Q2) is a 1,393 square foot reinforced concrete structure (Fig. 3 and 5). Q2 is a single level structure that contains several rooms including a kitchen, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. It was built in 1967 to replace a temporary wood frame house that was previously located on the same site from circa 1961.

Two mini split air conditioning units in Q1 and one unit in Q2 need to be replaced. The units that need replaced are Q1 back right corner bedroom, Q1 front center bedroom, and Q2 front center bedroom.

Objective

The objective of this project is to replace three single-zone mini-split air conditioning units – two units in Q1 and one unit in Q2. The units that need replaced are Q1 back right corner bedroom, Q1 front center bedroom, and Q2 front center bedroom.
