Figure 2. Specifications for how to construct our attachment points on each pontoon

Photo 6. Top view of completed toenail attachment apparatus and how we use it to anchor our RSTs on the river.

This is a picture of an old design of the same application.

We would like two ¼” aluminum angle pieces welded to the top of the pontoon toenails as outlined in Figure 2 schematics. We will add/bolt on steel plating to reinforce the welded aluminum angle bracket you install for the hitch pin attachment apparatus in Fig 2. Do not drill holes in the toenail attachment apparatus, we can do that when we install the steel reinforcing plates.

Photo 7. Winch installation into the #3 crossmember

View of winch location (Note rear post receptacle for starboard handrail was moved forward)….Requesting a similar approach for this order. Do not install cleat along pontoon edge or winch mount along pontoon edge as shown in Photo 8

Reinforcement of A-frame Mount is needed for our RSTs. -See figure 3 for specifications and picture for reference.

Figure 3. Port pontoon showing A-frame mount.

-Starboard pontoons require 3 attachment eyes on the starboard beam #1 saddle

One for pulley system, One for boat tie-offs (using pear clip), Additional eye in case one of the boat tie-off eyes were to break off there is a backup to use

ALL weld on eyes are vertical orientation!

-Note that there is no weld on eyes attachments on the deck reinforcement plate

-Reinforce side of the ponton where our safety handrail will be attached with ¼” aluminum plate as shown in figure 5.

We prefer a 10” piece of 2” x 2” square tubing receptacle that is snug to the diameter of the safety rail upright be welded to the pontoon to slide our safety rail into.

Figure 5. Front safety railing socket

Photo 14 (middle) and 15 (right) showing beam saddle reinforcement of #2 & #3 saddles (for crossmember 3 and 4). Cut all outside edges to 45 degree angle to prevent from hitting boat.

NOTE: vertical orientation of D-ring attachment eye on #3 saddle (#4 beam location) that is 5” in from outside edge of port pontoon ALL weld on eyes are vertical orientation! Starboard pontoon also needs the D-ring installed on #3 saddle (#4 crossmember) accordingly.

Photo 16. showing measurement from rear of the live to #4 beam is 19.5”. This is also shown in drawing above

Photo 17. Live box lid configuration.

Note hinges on ends (upstream & downstream) of live box and closure of each lid meet to rest centered on the #4 beam.

DO NOT install front lid rest.

Photo 17 shows modified aft safety rail with chains to access debris clean out doors

We DO NOT want the floating foam seal system for a seal for the cod end (small end) of the cone as it enters the live box. We request to have the old style rubber gaskets which are riveted to the live box. See photo on last page for reference. Also, the live box dimensions given are important for our project to match existing setups we had made for our 8’ RSTs over the years. We need them to be built the same in order to make the parts interchangeable. Also, we use a crowder to push fish back to the rear of the live box so the position of the #4 beam which cuts through the live box is crucial as not only a lid rest (above picture showing that lids close and rest upon #4 beam) but for structural integrity as well.

Photo 18 shows desired livebox bracing framing similar to shown here. We have had issues with weight of crew members causing additional stress around the cutout/screened areas within the live box that had led to regularly failing rivets along the bottom and side cut outs/screen areas. We have retrofitted our live boxes as shown in the following picture (bottom of live box with aft at top of picture showing 1” x 2” and 1” x 1” aluminum tubing for bracing; 1” x 1” beveled fore & aft to match existing floor cut out bracing) to reduce flexing and excess strain/stress causing rivet failure:

Photo 19 (left) Shows corner livebox gussets/reinforcement & preferred gasket material to be installed.

Photo 20 (right): Shows aft of livebox showing hinge location for the rear live box lid and 2 vertical supports downstream of track for the back screen to help support/hold it place in the flow.

DO NOT add a lid lock tab—we’ve ground them off in picture below as we do not use them
