To assist with the creation of, modification to, and changes in type of content made available on www.weather.gov, content editing software tools, CKEditor 4 and CKFinder, are used within CMS.

CKEditor 4 reached end of life on June 30, 2023, and requires the ESM as an add-on in order to receive software patches and updates required for security and bug fixes. The ESM add-on support package will provide support for NOAA’s continuing use of the CKEditor 4 and CKFinder content editing tools.
