SPECIFICATIONS FOR GREENHOUSE LIGHTING UPGRADE

I.

BACKGROUND

The USDA, ARS, Plant Genetic Resource Unit requires an upgraded greenhouse LED lighting system suitable for production of vigorous high-quality hemp and vegetable plant genetic resources. The USDA, PGRU location has both a service and research component requiring production of plant materials for routine regeneration and evaluation of crop genetic resources. Delivery is required within 30 days after the effective date of the purchase order.

II.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The Plant Genetic Resources Unit in Geneva, NY requires LED grow lighting systems in vegetable production Greenhouses 1 (30’ x 86’), 2 (30’ x 74’), and 3(32’ x 74’) for production of high-quality plants for routine seed regeneration and phenotypic evaluations. The current high pressure sodium lights are incapable of providing year-round production of these critical germplasm resources.

Each greenhouse has four (4) main canopy area (black tarp areas shown in the attached pictures) of 30’ x 12’ in which plants will placed and lights needed.

Canopy area information:

· GH Truss Height: Approx. 12 ft

· GH Bench dimension Height: Approx. 30-32inches

· Height from bench to light fixture: Approx. 80 inches

· Height from floor to light fixture: Approx. 110 inches

· Rolling/Static benches: Both. Some plants will be placed on the ground. Some on Benches.

· Isles or egress: 50in wide isles that intersect each greenhouse

· Final Plant height: tallest plants will be upwards of 6+ ft

Contractor shall provide a system for each greenhouse that meet the following requirements.

a. LED fixtures compatible with 208V, 3 phase infrastructure

b. Provide 500 Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD)

c. Full spectrum control for flexibility of crop and phase of growth.

d. Power cord, hooks, hangers, and other required hardware

e. Controllers – each greenhouse will be controlled separately.

f. Lighting plan

g. 5-year limited warranty (copy shall be provided) III. Delivery

The Contractor shall deliver (F.O.B. Destination, Within Consignee’s Premises) the equipment and documentation to the USDA, ARS, NAA, PGRU, Bldg. 4974, 630 W. North St., Geneva, NY 14456 within 30 days after the receipt of the purchase order. Delivery shall be between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. The Contractor shall provide the addressee advance notification of delivery. Such notice shall be provided in writing, not less than two (2) weeks prior to delivery and again at least 24 hours advance notice to the requester prior to actual delivery.
