Solicitation No. 69056724B000002

The attached preliminary plans are being furnished to aid prospective Bidders in identifying the location and type of work for this project. The project will be advertised during a period when viewing of the project may not be possible due to snow. Therefore, prospective Bidders are encouraged to view the project during fall as conditions permit.

After October 16, 2023, access will be weather dependent. Contact Steve Miller (907-260-2805) or Clifton Peterson (907-260-2832) at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge for current road conditions. No Federal Highway Administration personnel will be available for show-me tours.

Project Location and Type of Work - All project work is located within the Kenai National

Wildlife Refuge. There are three project sites within the project area; one on Skilak Lake Road and two on Upper Skilak Lake Road.

Existing culverts are to be replaced with Aquatic Organism Passage culverts at three locations:

• Site 1 - On Skilak Lake Road where it crosses Jean Creek (60.483648°, -150.116302°) approximately 0.2 miles southwest of Skilak’s east connection to Sterling Highway.

• Site 2 - On Upper Skilak Lake Road at Lower Ohmer Creek (60.455489°, -150.310281°) approximately 0.4 miles south of Skilak Lake Road.

• Site 3 - On Upper Skilak Lake Road at an unnamed creek (60.441910°, -150.317851°) approximately 1.6 miles south of Skilak Lake Road.

Work at all three sites consists of replacement of an existing undersized culvert with an Aquatic
