About this file

This document is a Determination to Solicit from a Single Source under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service is seeking preventative maintenance services on two Shimadzu scientific instruments and associated autosamplers and injectors. The anticipated 12-month base contract with four 12-month option periods is estimated at $70,950 total. The single source justification is that Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and provider of compatible parts and services. Market research did not identify any other vendors that could successfully perform the required work. The Contracting Officer has determined that Shimadzu's pricing is fair and reasonable based on previous pricing for this service.
