About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Award Single Source from AMIC Det 2 OL/PKA Contracting Squadron at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, for purchase of specialized gamma-ray detection equipment from AMETEK Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc.

The procurement includes six line items: a GMX50-83-XLB-C ORTEC GAMMA-X coaxial N-type HPGe extra-low-background gamma-ray detector with carbon fiber endcap (50% relative photopeak efficiency minimum, 0.80 keV FWHM resolution at 5.9 keV); DSPEC-PRO spectral analysis software with MAESTRO for use with SMART-1 equipped detectors; a two-piece close-fit plug for vertical dipstick cryostat; GammaVision gamma-ray HPGe spectral analysis software; up to one annual site visit per year for three days of technical support with all travel expenses included; and a streamline vertical cryostat dipstick type. The equipment will be used by the Air Force Technical Applications Center. The single-source justification is based on AMETEK being the creator, owner, licensor, and copyright holder of ORTEC products, with no authorized resellers in the United States. Interested parties may submit documentation regarding their interest and capability to respond by 11:00 A.M. EST on April 7, 2026. Responses must be submitted electronically to sean.moore.24@us.af.mil and ian.batchelor.1@us.af.mil, with phone calls not accepted. The Government retains discretion to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received.
