Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition)
April 2021 Page 1 of 1April 2021 Page 1 of 1
Section A: General Contract Information
Is this a Bridge Action as defined in the AF Bridge Action Reduction Plan? Yes No
Contracting Activity: 377 MSG/PKB
Project/Program Name: MILO Range Warranty
Purchase Request / Local ID Number: TBD
Estimated Contract Cost (including Options): $94,441.00
Section B: Description of the Supplies/Services Required
The 377 SFS requires a 3 year warranty for the currently installed MILO Range System.
Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source or Brand Name
FAAC Incorporated is the only supplier of warranties for the MILO Range System. As it would be prohibitively expensive to replace this system, rather than purchase a warranty, we intended to direct award to FAAC Incorporated.
Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition
AFICC Launch Pad and Acquisition Gateway were searched and no results were found. GSA Advantage was searched using the terms "MILO Range Warranty" and only hardware or the system showed up (all sold by FAAC Incorporated). Internet searches came up with FAAC Incorporated results but no resellers.
Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards
After the MILO System needs to be replaced we can solicit for a new system on the open market.
Section F: Contracting Officer's Determination
I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available.
