U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong
Second Set of Questions and Answers
Solicitation Number SHK30017Q0022- Shipping and Packing Services
Q1. Amendments shall be required for some of the “Unit Measurement” on the Solicitation
Document. Please see the highlighted columns and my comments in the attached document. See next
2 pages.
A1. The USG does not believe any changes are required to any of the units of measure in the solicitation contract line items to include Freight handling. Consequently all prospective offerors need to comply with the “Unit of Measure” in the solicitation and estimated quantities when determining their proposed firm fixed prices for the base year and all option years. If a prospective offeror deems it necessary to use any metrics convertor or tools to convert the measurement units to calculate the actual weight, then that is the decision of each prospective offeror.
For the container shipments, since some of the items are shipped via consolidated shipment with other non-
USG goods in a container, prospective offerors are advised not to quote in container size but again provide their proposed firm fixed price (i.e. rate per unit) according to the “Unit of Measure” in the solicitation for each line item.
Q2. I believe the other movers in HK shall have the same question?
A2. The Consulate has not received the same question from other companies but if it did or had, the answer would be the same as set forth in A1.
