About this file
This is a Shipping Instructions document outlining requirements for bidders on the State of Iowa's Food Items for CDC Warehouse solicitation in Woodward, Iowa. The document specifies mandatory delivery and product handling standards that bidders must meet to be deemed responsible. All freight charges and fuel costs must be included in the bid price with delivery required to the warehouse. Products must be shipped on pallets and shrink wrapped in insulated, clean trailers. All products require labeling, and bidders must provide proof of pack date and pack origin upon request. The state reserves the right to request product samples for testing. Bidders are responsible for ensuring all products and containers meet USDA grade standards. Products delivered more than 30 days after purchase order receipt are considered late and will be awarded to the next lowest bidder or re-bid. The state will award consideration to products packed in the USA. Bidders must ship only the products indicated on their submitted bid.
Quality control measures are stringent, with freight not meeting agency specifications or containing damaged products subject to refusal. Damaged packages located in the middle of a pallet will be set aside for credit issuance or the entire load may be refused at the bidder's expense for pickup and replacement. Canned products cannot be received frozen. All costs associated with product replacement and CDC Warehouse expenses resulting from non-compliant shipments become the bidder's responsibility. These requirements establish the baseline standards for vendor performance and compliance throughout the supply chain.
