About this file
This is a Shipping Instructions document establishing delivery and quality requirements for food items being procured by the State of Iowa for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. The solicitation requires all freight charges and fuel costs to be included in the bid price, with delivery to the designated warehouse. Products must arrive within 30 days of purchase order receipt; deliveries beyond this timeframe will result in the award being given to the next lowest bidder or the item being re-solicited. All products must be delivered on pallets and shrink-wrapped in insulated, clean trailers. The state will refuse freight that fails to meet agency specifications, contains damaged products, or has damaged packages within a pallet, though partial credit may be issued if the shipment is not rejected entirely. Bidders are responsible for picking up rejected loads at their own expense.
Quality and documentation standards require all products to be properly labeled with pack date codes accompanied by a key upon request, and bidders must provide proof of pack date and pack origin if requested. Products must comply with USDA grade standards for both product and container condition, and the state reserves the right to request samples for testing. Canned products cannot be received in frozen condition. Bidders must ship only the products indicated in their submitted bids, and preference will be given to products packed in the USA. Any costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse due to product replacement or pickup of rejected shipments become the bidder's responsibility. A bidder must satisfy all shipping instructions to be deemed responsible.
