About this file
This is a Shipping Instructions document for the State of Iowa's cereal procurement for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. The document establishes mandatory requirements that successful bidders must meet to be deemed responsible and eligible for award. All freight charges and fuel surcharges must be included in the bid price, with delivery required to the designated warehouse. Products must be shipped on pallets and shrink-wrapped in clean, insulated trailers. All products require proper labeling, and bidders must provide proof of pack dates and pack origin upon request. Bidders may be required to submit samples for testing and must ensure compliance with USDA grade standards for both products and containers. Products must be shipped exactly as indicated in the submitted bid, and delivery beyond 30 days from purchase order receipt is considered late and subject to rejection or reassignment to the next lowest bidder.
The document specifies that damaged freight or freight not meeting agency specifications will be refused, with bidders responsible for pickup and replacement costs. Canned products cannot be received in frozen condition. While consideration will be given to products packed in the USA, this does not constitute a formal set-aside. If damaged packages are discovered within a pallet, those packages will be set aside for credit, or the entire load may be refused at the bidder's expense for pickup. Bidders assume responsibility for ensuring all USDA standards are met and must cover any costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse related to product replacement or handling.
