About this file

This shipping instructions document outlines the requirements and specifications that successful bidders must meet to be deemed responsible vendors for the State of Iowa's food items procurement for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. All freight charges and fuel costs must be included in the bid price, with delivery required to the warehouse. Products must arrive on pallets and shrink-wrapped in clean, insulated trailers, and any freight that does not meet agency specifications, contains damaged products, or arrives with compromised packaging will be refused. The bidder is responsible for picking up refused loads at their own expense. All products must be properly labeled with pack dates and origins, and bidders must be prepared to provide samples for testing and demonstrate compliance with USDA grade standards for both products and containers. Canned products cannot be received frozen, and any delivery occurring more than 30 days after purchase order receipt will be considered late and subject to award reassignment to the next lowest bidder or re-bidding.

Bidders must ship exactly the products indicated in their submitted bids and bear all responsibility for product replacement and associated costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse if specifications are not met. The document gives consideration to products packed in the USA, though this is not a mandatory requirement. Pack date codes must be accompanied by a key when requested, and the bidder assumes full responsibility for ensuring that all USDA standards are met for both product and container condition. No pricing structure, set-asides, or contract term information is detailed in this shipping instructions document, as it serves solely to establish the operational and quality requirements necessary for bid acceptance.
