About this file
This Shipping Instructions document outlines the operational and quality requirements that successful bidders must meet to supply food items to the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. All products must be delivered to the warehouse with freight charges and fuel costs included in the bid price. Products must arrive on pallets and shrink-wrapped in insulated, clean trailers, and any freight not meeting agency specifications or containing damaged products will be refused. The agency reserves the right to refuse entire loads of freight containing damaged packages and may require the bidder to pick up refused shipments at the bidder's expense. All products must comply with USDA grade standards for both product and container condition, and bidders are responsible for replacing any non-compliant products and covering any associated warehouse costs.
Quality assurance and documentation requirements are critical components of bid acceptance. All products must be properly labeled with pack dates and origins, and bidders may be required to provide proof of these details along with pack date code keys upon request. Sample testing may be requested at the bidder's discretion. Canned products cannot be received in a frozen state, and any product received more than 30 days after purchase order issuance is considered late and subject to being awarded to the next lowest bidder or placed back out to bid. While preference will be given to products packed in the USA, bidders must ship only the products specified in their submitted bid to maintain bid integrity and contract compliance.
