About this file
This Shipping Instructions document establishes the delivery and quality requirements that bidders must satisfy to be deemed responsible vendors for the State of Iowa's food items procurement for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. The document does not specify quantities, response dates, or contract terms, as these details are contained in the primary solicitation materials. Instead, it focuses exclusively on the operational requirements bidders must meet upon award, including delivery specifications, product handling, documentation standards, and quality assurance protocols.
All freight charges and fuel surcharges must be included in the bid price, with delivery required to the warehouse. Products must arrive on pallets and shrink-wrapped in insulated, clean trailers; any freight not meeting agency specifications or containing damaged products will be refused, and bidders are responsible for pickup and replacement costs. All products require proper labeling and must comply with USDA grade standards for both product and container condition. Bidders must provide proof of pack date and origin upon request, and may be required to submit samples for testing. Canned products cannot be received frozen, and delivery must occur within 30 days of purchase order receipt or the product will be considered late and awarded to the next lowest bidder. Consideration will be given to products packed in the United States, and bidders are obligated to ship only the products specified in their submitted bids.
