About this file
Shipping Instructions Summary
This is a Shipping Instructions document for a food procurement solicitation by the State of Iowa for the CDC Warehouse located in Woodward, Iowa. The document establishes mandatory shipping and delivery requirements that bidders must satisfy to be deemed responsible vendors. All freight charges and fuel surcharges must be included in the bid price, with delivery required to the warehouse. Products must be delivered on pallets and shrink-wrapped in insulated, clean trailers. The State will refuse freight that does not meet agency specifications, contains damaged products, or arrives with damaged packages; if damage occurs mid-pallet, those packages will be set aside for credit or the entire load may be refused at the bidder's expense for pickup. All products must be labeled with pack date and pack origin information available upon request, with bidders potentially required to submit samples for testing. Bidders are responsible for ensuring all products and containers meet USDA grade standards. Canned products cannot be received frozen, and delivery must occur within 30 days of purchase order receipt or the product will be considered late and rebid to the next lowest bidder.
The document specifies that bidders must ship only the products indicated in their submitted bids and gives preference to products packed in the USA. If damaged or non-compliant product is delivered, the bidder is responsible for pickup, replacement costs, and any expenses incurred by the CDC Warehouse. Documentation requirements include proof of pack date, pack origin, and pack date code keys upon request. No pricing information, contract term, set-asides, or incumbent vendor details are specified in this shipping instructions document; such information would be contained in the complete solicitation materials available through the IMPACS Electronic Procurement System.
