About this file
This is a Shipping Instructions document for the State of Iowa's food items procurement for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. The document establishes mandatory shipping and delivery requirements that all bidders must satisfy to be deemed responsible. All freight charges and fuel costs must be included in the bid price, and all bids must be for delivered products to the warehouse. Products must be delivered on pallets and shrink-wrapped in insulated, clean trailers. Canned products may not be received frozen, and any product received more than 30 days after the purchase order date will be considered late and subject to rejection or rebid. All products must meet USDA grade standards for both product and container condition, and bidders are responsible for providing proof of pack date and pack origin upon request, with accompanying pack date code keys.
The instructions establish clear quality and compliance standards for which bidders are fully accountable. Freight not meeting agency specifications or containing damaged products will be refused, and if damaged packages are discovered within a pallet, those packages will be credited or the entire load may be rejected at the bidder's expense for pickup and replacement. Bidders must ship only the products indicated in their submitted bids and may be required to submit samples for testing. The agency will give consideration to products packed in the USA. All products must be properly labeled. The bidder's responsibility extends to covering all costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse related to product pickup, replacement, or handling of non-compliant deliveries.
