About this file
This document is a Statement of Work for SeaTow boat transportation services to support the USDA-Wildlife Services (WS) in Virginia. The USDA-WS requires reliable and consistent charter boat transportation to access Ft Wool/Rip Raps Island in Hampton, VA, as they do not own a boat suitable for navigating the Chesapeake Bay area. The period of performance is from 04/16/2024 to 04/15/2025. The USDA-WS has entered into a Cooperative Service Agreement with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources to conduct wildlife damage management activities on the island, including predator control, Canada goose nest/egg management, rodent damage management, and Herring gull nest and egg management. Safe and reliable transportation to the island is essential for the USDA-WS to accomplish their mission. After extensive research, the USDA-WS determined that SeaTow, a nationally recognized marine transportation services provider with a local franchise in the Hampton Roads area, is the only vendor that can provide the consistent, reliable, and safe transportation required.
