About this file

This is a Scope of Work for the replacement of a bulk liquid oxygen tank system at Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center (ZCCHC) located in southwestern New Mexico. The project encompasses the removal of the existing bulk oxygen tank and installation of a new 1,500-gallon liquid oxygen (LOX) bulk tank system with associated components including a manifold control center, alarm panel, vaporizer, reserve assembly piping, inlet strainers, economizer circuit components, a 1-inch flanged switching manifold with seven valves, and all related piping, valves, fittings, and accessories. Labor requirements include crane services and multi-truck support for lifting, unloading, and placement of the new tank. The contractor must also provide site preparation work involving removal of the existing concrete pad and fencing, construction of a new seismic-compliant concrete pad, and installation of new fencing with an access gate.

The contractor shall install underground electrical and signal conduit infrastructure, including hand-excavation and backfill of approximately 70 feet of trench to 24 inches depth on the southwest side of the hospital bulk oxygen pad, with installation of two 1-inch underground PVC conduits—one for signal wiring and one for line-voltage wiring—routed to junction boxes inside the bulk oxygen fence enclosure in compliance with NFPA 70. Electrical and alarm system work includes installation of two new voltage junction boxes, pull of new signal wiring for liquid oxygen level low, oxygen reserve in use, and oxygen reserve low alarms, routing of signals to existing junction boxes, troubleshooting and repair of existing non-functioning signal wiring, and testing of all alarm signals to master alarm panels. Contractor qualifications require medical gas work personnel certified per NFPA 99 and ASSE 6010/6020 standards, licensed electricians for all electrical work including 110/120-volt life safety circuit breaker installation, and properly licensed and certified crane operators compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC. The contractor must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage and provide certificates of insurance upon request. The facility's Facilities Department is responsible for coordinating system shutdown, providing emergency backup portable oxygen systems and vacuum units, implementing Infection Control Risk Assessment measures, and shutting off required electrical breakers during construction.
