ATC Mobile, HC-144 Training Division is implementing Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) into the P-Course for FY22. The need for this training is apparent when you look at several FAA, ICAO, and NTSB studies. Loss of control in flight represents a small proportion of mishaps, but a large proportion of deaths each year, due to the inherent consequences of and lack of recovery training.
1.2 SCOPE

The three members in attendance will be Assistant Training Division-Fixed Wing, who will serve as course auditor and two HC-144 division instructor pilots, who will serve as subject matter experts. Upon successful completion, course participants will have an advanced level of capability and proficiency to employ upset prevention and recovery techniques and be able to instruct fleet pilots on these techniques.
1.3 OBJECTIVE
HC-144 Training Division will learn teaching techniques to be able to better train the fleet. In addition, as part of the course audit, UPRT may become part of the ETQC listing that will subsequently allow other members to attend the course.
