About this file

This is Schedule B from a federal real property lease agreement (DACA095260083000) that establishes insurance requirements for the lessor.

The lessor must maintain public liability and property damage insurance at its own cost with a single combined liability limit of not less than $1,000,000 and property damage limits of not less than $500,000. The coverage must protect against all liability of the lessor and its authorized representatives arising from the leased premises or the real property containing the leased premises. Both the lessor and government must be named as additional insureds, and the policy must include cross-liability endorsements. Additionally, the lessor must maintain standard fire and extended coverage insurance on the building and other improvements where the premises are located, including vandalism and malicious mischief endorsements, to the extent of full replacement value, also at the lessor's cost. The Federal Government does not carry liability insurance and is self-insured under 28 U.S.C. Section 1346, which permits individuals injured or suffering property damage due to negligence by a Government employee to file claims for damages against the Government. Claims are first processed administratively through the U.S. Army, and after a final agency decision, parties have the statutory right to appeal to the U.S. Federal District Court or the U.S. Claims Court.
