PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

Digital Scanning of Existing Blueprint Drawings for Langley AFB:

1. Scope of Work:

Langley Air Force Base has approximately 45,000 blueprints to be scanned into a digital format. These drawings are stored in approximately 200 flat drawers with approximately 225 drawings per drawer. Most of these are large-file-formats such as D-size (92% is current estimate), with the occasional E-size as well as various smaller formats. They are to be indexed for quick reference upon digital conversion. The deliverable is to be presented in a digital format by the contractor upon completion.

2. Performance Objectives and Standards:

The contractor is responsible for the pick-up and return of these drawings to the government facility. The contractor is to index the digitally converted drawings as follows: building number, type of drawing (i.e. mechanical) and drawing number of total if duplicates (i.e. 3 of 26). It is understood that >2% of these drawings are old and in ill-repair. The contractor shall handle with care, tape and unfold the documents at their own discretion as needed to feed into scanning machine.

3. Quality Assurance:

The contractor shall develop and maintain a quality assurance control and inspection program to ensure optimum digital conversion and reference indexing.
