About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1 for the MDC Ridgeway Cottage Renovations project, issued by Clearscapes Architecture + Art for the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services, specifically for the Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner, North Carolina. The addendum, dated March 24, 2025, provides supplemental information for the renovation project, including modifications to the original bid documents. Key updates include allowing street boring for the fire line instead of cutting and patching, noting that asbestos abatement is included in the project scope with owner-covered air monitoring, and providing dimensions for concrete patios. The bid is due on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with an SCO ID number of 22-25078-01.
The addendum introduces several important contract modifications, such as revising the liquidated damages to $500 per day and adding a specification section on substitution procedures. The supplementary general conditions outline specific requirements, including the contractor's obligation to complete the work within 365 consecutive calendar days, employ a registered land surveyor, and maintain comprehensive property insurance. Additional stipulations include prohibiting firearms on the job site and specifying the owner as the State of North Carolina through the Department of Health & Human Services, with the Murdoch Developmental Center as the specific agency. The document provides detailed guidelines for potential substitutions, emphasizing the need for thorough documentation and compatibility with existing project requirements.
