About this file
This is a visitor information document providing access procedures and gate operations details for Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), a Department of the Army facility located in Maryland. The document outlines the process for requesting visitor access, which requires online registration through https://pass.aie.army.mil/apg, followed by vetting and approval or denial via email notification. Approved visitors receive a pass to present at the gate, while those with issues must proceed to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) or the visitor lane for additional screening and access determination.
Aberdeen Proving Ground comprises two separate areas—Aberdeen Area/APG North and Edgewood Area/APG South—with distinct gate operations and hours. APG North's primary gate (MD 715 on Maryland Boulevard) operates 24/7/365 and accommodates all DoD or Federal identification card holders as well as trucks, commercial deliveries, non-DoD/Federal ID holders, and visitors. The secondary gate (MD 22 on Harford Boulevard) operates 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily and is restricted to outbound traffic on weekdays until 6 p.m., with access limited to personnel with DoD or Federal identification or escorted visitors. The VCC operates Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed on weekends and holidays. This document supports the scheduled Department of the Army SBU-E Radio Cybersecurity Industry Day event planned for December 1-3, 2026, at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
