Dear Prospective Offerors:

The Embassy of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina received the questions below on the subject solicitation which was posted on January 15, 2014.

1 QUESTION: Is the bilateral agreement signed between the U.S. Government and Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003 subject of annual renewal or revision?

ANSWER: No, referenced bilateral agreement remains in full force and effect. There is no need for its annual renewal.

2 QUESTION: Is it possible to obtain acknowledgement or confirmation from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Foreign Affairs to decide in behalf of Local Health Insurance Authorities?

ANSWER: The Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the authority to determine how diplomatic entities operate in the host country. The bilateral agreement authorized the U.S. Embassy to operate independently of the local social security system.

The Bosnian authorities are fully aware of the Embassy’s benefit plan for local employees. It is not within the U.S. Embassy’s purview to address the MFA’s authorities in relation to other entities.
