Response to Lodging Solicitation Questions
1. Are there any preferred communities or hotels for this project?
Government’s Response:
Refer to Section 1.4 Scope: “Long term Lodging for FSOs enrolled in language training must be located near the Rosslyn metro station in Arlington, VA. Short term lodging for FSO, GS, or LES employees attending OFSHC sponsored training must be located near the Metro Center metro station in Washington, DC.”
In addition, refer to Table 1.4.6.A, Section titled “Geographic Accessibility”:
Preferred: Lodging facilities, restaurants, diverse shopping, dry cleaning, recreational opportunities and local attractions are within a 10 minute walking distance from the Rosslyn metro station and the Metro Center metro station.
Minimum: Lodging facilities, restaurants, diverse shopping, dry cleaning, recreational opportunities and local attractions are within a 10 minute walking distance to a metro stop which may be located two metro stops in either direction of Rosslyn (Clarendon, Courthouse, Foggy Bottom or Farragut West and located two metro stops in either direction of Metro Center (Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, McPherson Square or Farragut West) Global Markets does not express a preference for a particular chain or vendor of hotels or communities.
2. 1.4.6.A Table of Preferred and Minimum Requirements states the following: “24/7 + Concierge who will provide assistance regarding local amenities, with taxi arrangements, with entertainment reservations, etc.” and “ Shall provide guests with luggage carts and luggage assistance at check-in”. Is this a requirement for both long and short term accomodations? These type of requirements are typical in a “hotel” solution, but in usually will result in higher costs for corporate housing solutions.
Government’s Response: It is the preference of Global Markets to have each of these amenities at both the long term and short term lodging facilities.
3. Are there any location requirements for the training venues?
Government’s Response: Refer to Section 1.2: “ The preferred vendor will not only accommodate short term lodging for employees visiting Washington for training, but will also have the capability to provide a meeting room(s) at the same location as the lodging site(s).”
4. I am wondering if an incumbent exists for the U.S. DOC, ITA Short and Long Term Lodging requirement and if so, could you please provide the vendor and the corresponding contract number?
Government’s Response: There is no incumbent for this requirement. Global Markets has never had this type of contract.
