Amendment 0001 to Request for Quotation (RFQ) SB1341-17-RQ-0459 incorporates questions received in response to RFQ SB1341-16-RQ-0459. The questions and respective answers are as follows:

Industry Question 1: Does the inspection and acceptance performance measurements required located on page 4 of the Combo Synopsis Solicitation Section X. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE assume the requisitioner wants to measure the specifications listed at their lab prior to acceptance. Are the first 3 specifications for the pump laser or OPA?

NIST Response to Industry Question 1: NIST will perform these measurements at NIST facility upon receipt of the required equipment. The power and beam quality specifications are for the pump laser. The spectrum specification is for the pump laser and OPA.

Industry Question 2: Is the bidder required to provide the equipment to complete the measurements listed on page 4 of the Combo Synopsis Solicitation Section X. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE?

NIST Response to Industry Question 2: The bidder is not required to provide the necessary equipment, NIST will provide the equipment at their own facility.

Industry Question 3: Is a beam quality factor M² required for the OPA?

NIST Response to Industry Question 3. No it is not required for the bidder to provide a beam profiling kit.

Industry Question 4: Is the beam quality factor indicated on page 4 of the Combo Synopsis Solicitation Section X. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE for the pump laser require beam scans system test report to fulfill the “Beam quality factor (M²)” in the required performance measurements? Beam quality of the OPA has not been mentioned in the requirements, so I’m assuming this is for the pump laser. Would beam scans from the delivered system test report meet this requirement?

NIST Response to Industry Question 41: 3. The bidder does not need to provide a beam profiling kit. A beam profiling scan performed at the factory is sufficient to satisfy this requirement.
