About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the procurement of two new Vertrod 48 PS Thermal Impulse Pneumatic Pivot Style Heat Sealer Machines for NASA-Stennis Space Center. The machines will feature 48-inch seal lengths, with one unit equipped with a 3/8-inch seal width and the other with a 1/2-inch seal width. Key specifications include single-side bottom jaw heating with opposing pressure bar, thermal impulse time control with independent seal and cool timers (0 to 3.75 seconds in 0.25-second increments), open-back feed-through style with 3-inch jaw opening, and incrementally adjustable top jaw for pressure alignment. Additional features include welded structural steel frame construction with leveling pads, hammer tone gray powder coat finish, pneumatic low-pressure jaw close safety system, safety switch indication lights, foot switch activation, 60 PSIG compressed air operation, 115VAC/230VAC single-phase power, airtight/watertight sealing capability with temperatures ranging from 200°F to 650°F, Made in USA designation, 3-year limited warranty, bi-active heat (both jaws heated), digital temperature controller, ported exhaust, front and rear adjustable stainless steel work shelves (18 inches deep), and casters for mobility.
The machines are intended for use at the Stennis Space Center Test Complex to seal poly, aclar, and other material bags used for packaging individual fittings, seals, o-rings, crush washers, and other components. One machine will replace a non-operational sealer in the general clean room area, while the second machine will be installed in a newly constructed ISO7 clean room designed to accommodate higher precision cleaning requirements for the SSC Critical Hardware Operational Processing shop. The ISO7 clean room is positively pressurized and isolated from the general clean room area. Delivery is required to NASA-Stennis Space Center, Building 9166, Stennis Space Center, MS 39529.

STATEMENT OF WORK – Sealing Machine
1. Objective Procure Quantity 2 new Vertrod 48 PS Thermal Impulse Pneumatic – Pivot Style Heat Sealer Machines with the following features and options:
• Seal lengths: 48”
• Seal Width: Quantity 1 with a 3/8” width; Quantity 1 with a 1/2” width
• Single side heater bar with opposing pressure bar (bottom jaw heated)
• Thermal Impulse time control system.
• Independent Seal and Cool timers from 0 to 3.75 seconds (.25 second increments)
• Open-back feed thru style with 3” jaw opening
• Incrementally adjustable top jaw for precise pressure alignment along sealing length
• Welded structural steel frame construction with leveling pads that allow for anchoring machine
• Hammer tone gray powder coat finish
• Pneumatic Low-pressure jaw close safety system with release if obstruction is detected
• Safety switch indication lights for precise, easy positioning of heat/high pressure engagement
• Foot switch cycle activation
• Compressed air operated: 60PSIG
• 115VAC/230VAC, single phase standard (dependent on model and options)
• Capable of making airtight/watertight seals with temperatures ranging from 200°F to
650°F
• Made in USA
• 3-Year Limited Warranty
• Bi-Active Heat (Both jaws heated)
• Temperature controller with digital readout
• Ported Exhaust
• Front AND Rear (x2) S.S. Adjustable work shelf (18” deep x width of sealer)
• Casters included for mobility
These sealing machine will be used to seal large numbers of poly, aclar, and other material bags used to clean package individual fittings, seals, o-rings, crush washers, and other components for use in the field in the Stennis Space Center Test Complex. 2 machines are required, 1 for the general clean room area, and 1 for the separate, newly constructed ISO7 clean room. The current non-operational sealing machine that we have is on the general area clean line, and first new machine is required to replace it.
The new ISO7 clean room is not operational yet, but was constructed to accommodate higher precision cleaning requirements that are imminent for the SSC Critical Hardware Operational Processing shop. The second machine is required to be installed in the ISO7 area, which is positively pressurized and isolated from the general clean room area.
2. Ship to NASA-Stennis Space Center Building 9166 Stennis Space Center, MS 39529
