About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the fabrication of ceramic seal test hardware for NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).
NASA GRC is developing and testing high-temperature seals for high-speed vehicles and requires ceramic test hardware to validate candidate seal designs under representative high-temperature operating conditions. The hardware was designed by NASA GRC engineers and must be fabricated according to specified drawings and requirements. Three distinct parts are required: one compression platen (Drawing 170801MRA134, Rev A, quantity 1), sixteen bolt head washers (Drawing 170801MRA190, Rev -, quantity 16), and four lower rod pin retainers (Drawing 170801MRA191, Rev A, quantity 4). All parts require 100% inspection and material certificates of conformance. The contractor shall deliver the completed test hardware to NASA Glenn Research Center, 21000 Brookpark Road, Building 23, room W222, Cleveland, OH 44135, within approximately 16 weeks after receipt of order. The SOW includes detailed engineering drawings with material specifications, dimensional tolerances, processing requirements, and inspection criteria for each component.

Statement of Work for Ceramic Seal Test Hardware
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is developing and testing high temperature seals for high-speed vehicles and would like to obtain ceramic test hardware that will be used to test candidate seal designs at high temperatures under representative operating conditions. The test hardware was designed by engineers at NASA GRC. This statement of work (SOW) describes the requirements for fabrication of the test hardware.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The materials, dimensions, processing requirements, inspection requirements, and documentation required for the test hardware are described in the drawings on the following pages. Each drawing calls for 100% inspection of the parts and a certificate of conformance for the material. The contractor shall fabricate the test hardware according to these drawings and specifications.
The desired quantities for each part are as follows:
Drawing number 170801MRA134, Rev A
Compression platen
Quantity 1
Drawing number 170801MRA190, Rev -
Bolt head washer
Quantity 16
Drawing number 170801MRA191, Rev A
