Statement of Work Summary

This is a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Supply Order Statement of Work issued by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), ER64. The contractor must design, fabricate, and test a Rare Earth Barium Copper Oxide (REBCO) superconducting tape-based Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) demonstrator device with an accompanying Persistent Current Switch (PCS). The device must produce a 0.25 tesla magnetic field at ½ inch above the centerline surface between the long sides of the SMES coils. Deliverables include device specifications, simulation and analysis results, the completed REBCO SMES demonstrator device, and virtual and in-person meetings. The work encompasses specifications development, device design and instrumentation, simulation analysis, mechanical/electrical/magnetic design, device assembly, shipping, and travel.

The total procurement base cost is $45,000.00, exclusive of ground shipping to Huntsville, AL. The lead time is 4 to 12 weeks After Receipt of Order (A.R.O.), with quote validity from June 5, 2026 to September 30, 2026. Payment terms are Net 30, with the final invoice issued only after 100% physical delivery completion and acceptance by the NASA Point of Contact, Robert Adams (Robert.b.adams@nasa.gov). Delivery must be FOB Destination to NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, 4631 Saturn Rd., Building 4631, Huntsville, AL 35812. All equipment must arrive factory-new, fully assembled, tested, and ready for immediate network integration. The statement specifies three acceptable manufacturers: MagCorp, Canyon Magnet, or MEtOx International, though CAGE Code, DUNS Number, Unique Entity ID, and NAICS classifications remain to be completed.
