About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the purchase and installation of analytical equipment by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. The requirement is for one QUANTAX XFlash 7 Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) package, a high-resolution, high-speed Silicon Drift Detector system with advanced analytical capabilities. The detector features LN2-free cooling, a 100 mm2 active area, energy resolution less than 129 eV at Mn-K, maximum output count rate up to 600 kcps, and detection capabilities from Beryllium (4) to Californium (98) using a Super Light Element Detector Window (SLEW). The system includes motorized detector retraction, vibration-free maintenance-free Peltier cooling, and optimized solid angle using slim line design for more than 2x higher throughput than conventional detectors.

The complete system comprises the QUANTAX Base System with Signal Processing Unit (including XPulse pulse processor and QUANTAX Scan System), a Q811 workstation computer with Windows 11, Q821 TFT LCD monitor, and comprehensive software packages for spectrum acquisition, quantification, imaging, line profiles, mapping, and data management. Software components include ESPRIT Spectrum (base package), ESPRIT Quant, EQuant, and UQuant for quantitative analysis; ESPRIT Scan, MultiPoint, Line, Map, HyperMap, TChart, and EMap for imaging and mapping; and ESPRIT Project, Report, RemoteLink, and User for system administration. The deliverable includes installation and introductory training by a service engineer for 2 days on-site with advanced training and a printed English user manual. Performance location is NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, 4631 Saturn Rd Bldg 4631/EM31, Huntsville, AL 35812, with a performance period of 3-4 months ARO (As Required/As Soon As Ordered).
