About this file
This is a Specifications document for a NASA Langley Research Center procurement of advanced laser systems and related equipment.
NASA Langley Research Center seeks to acquire a Q-smart 1500 SLM Nd:YAG laser system (Model PMBX0157) and a Q-scan tunable dye laser (Model PMBX0108) to support advanced photonics, spectroscopy, and nonlinear optical experimentation. The Q-smart 1500 SLM system must deliver 1.5 J at 1064 nm, 750–850 mJ at 532 nm (High Energy version), 400–520 mJ at 355 nm, and 130 mJ at 266 nm, with a 10 Hz repetition rate and temperature-stabilized lamp-pumped oscillator and amplifier. The system includes detachable harmonic generator modules (2W HE Module PMEX0103, 3W HE Module PMEX0104, 4W Module PMEX0102) with intelligent autotuning, wavelength separation optics (PMEX0130), and quick-connect I/O cables. The Q-scan Dye Laser must provide a fundamental wavelength range of 420–900 nm with a 1800 lines/mm grating, linewidth less than 0.06 cm⁻¹ at 620 nm, and includes a Bethune amplifier cell and dye supply demonstrating operation at 226 nm. Additional required components include beam height adaptation kit (PMEX0126), pump beam adaptation optics for 532 nm (PMEX0045), Bethune 6 mm cell upgrade (PMEX0053), UV extension module (PMEX0067), and high-energy nonlinear crystals (PMEX0058, PMEX0059) for 220–440 nm coverage. Installation services by a Lumibird technician (SERV0132) and a shipping package covering packing, handling, and international freight (EXPEN00044) are required. Delivery must occur within 16 weeks from receipt of order (ARO) to Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA 23681.
