About this file

This is a Statement of Objectives (SOO) for the purchase and delivery of specialized power-limited tray cable from Cable Specialties Inc.

The solicitation requires the procurement of Cable Specialties Inc. Part Number CS197117, with a quantity of 13 continuous spools of 220 feet each, totaling 2,860 feet. The cable must meet UL2464 outdoor rating standards (CM and/or CL3) and feature an overall construction of 34 AWG tinned copper braid shielding with a PVC jacket. The cable contains 64 total conductors of 20 AWG tinned copper, configured as 8 separate sub-cables bundled together. Each sub-cable includes 20-1932 stranded conductors with 0.010 mils thick PVC insulation in eight distinct wire colors: red, brown, yellow, orange, violet, gray, blue, and green. Individual shielding is required for each sub-cable, consisting of 36 AWG tinned copper braid with a PVC jacket. The cable must comply with PLTC standards, including fire-resistance ratings and wet-location capability. Freight and delivery costs must be included in the quote. Delivery is required to Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, addressed to Justin Lucas/Melissa Huggins at E-Complex, B4010, within 12 weeks after receipt of order (ARO).

1. Objectives:

Purchase and deliver the following from Cable Specialties Inc.:

Cable Specialties Inc. Part Number CS197117

QTY: 13 x 220 ft of continuous spools = 2860FT Total

- Overall Construction o UL Style Rating: UL2464 Outdoor Rated (ex. CM and/or CL3) o Overall Shield: 34 AWG Tinned Copper (TC) Braid o Overall Jacket: PVC o Total of 64 Conductors, 20 AWG Tinned Copper o Power-Limited Tray Cable (PLTC)

- Sub-Cable Layout (The cable is divided into 8 separate sub cables bundled together) o Conductor: 20-1932, stranded Gauge: 20 AWG Standing: 19x32 o Material: Tin plated copper (TC) o Insulation: 0.010 mils thick PVC

- Sub-Cable Wire Colors o Red, Brown, Yellow, Orange, Violet, Gray, Blue, Green

- Individual Shielding (Per Sub-Cable)

- Each of the 8 sub-cables features its own protective layer o Sub-Shield: 36 AWG Tinned Copper (TC) braid o Sub-Jacket: PVC jacket encasing each individual sub-cable

Notes:

1. Conductors: PLTC cables consist of two or more insulated conductors, typically ranging from 22 AWG to 12 AWG. These conductors are made of copper, which can be either solid or stranded.

2. Insulation: The conductors are insulated with materials rated for 300 volts, often using premium-grade, color-coded PVC. This insulation provides electrical protection and helps identify individual conductors.

3. Cable core: The core of a PLTC cable can be arranged in various configurations, including parallel conductors, twisted or parallel conductor groups, or a combination of these.

4. Shielding: PLTC cables may include a metallic shield or a metallized foil shield with drain wire(s). This shielding can be applied over the entire cable core or individual conductor groups, providing protection against electromagnetic interference.

5. Outer jacket: The cable is encased in a nonmetallic jacket that is both sunlight and moisture-resistant. This outer layer provides additional protection against environmental factors.

6. Fire resistance: PLTC cables are listed as resistant to the spread of fire, enhancing safety in various installations.

7. Wet location rating: Some PLTC cables are specifically designed for use in wet locations, either through a specialized listing or by incorporating a moisture-impervious metal sheath.

Freight/Delivery to be included in quote.
