Statement of Work Summary
This Statement of Work describes NASA Marshall Space Flight Center's (MSFC) requirement to procure high-temperature tribological testing equipment. NASA MSFC EM22 currently supports tribological testing for internal NASA programs and external partners, with existing capabilities limited to pin-on-disk testing and hardness testing up to 400°C. This procurement will extend MSFC's testing capabilities to 1200°C, a temperature range commonly encountered in space-related hardware applications. The procurement must be obligated by August 31, 2026.
The supplier shall provide six deliverable items: a 1200°C removable temperature chamber compatible with an existing rotary drive tribometer, a split lid for the 1200°C rotary drive chamber, a 1200°C controller box, a voltage transformer (110V to 220V), a hot hardness test kit for rotary drive, and a high-temperature (up to 1200°C) 0.375-inch diameter ball holder. Performance of work shall take place at Building 4711, Room W108, Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA MSFC EM22 supports tribological testing of materials and hardware for internal NASA programs and for external partners. The Tribology group at MSFC currently has a capability to conduct pin-on-disk testing, a standard tribological test frequently used in the lab, and hardness testing up to a temperature of 400°C. This procurement will give MSFC the capability to conduct pin-on-disk tests and hardness tests up to 1200°C, a high temperature that is frequently encountered in space-related hardware. The procurement must obligate by August 31, 2026.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The supplier shall provide the following:
1200°C Removable temperature chamber for a rotary drive for an existing tribometer Split Lid for 1200°C rotary drive chamber 1200°C Controller Box Voltage transformer (110V to 220V) Hot hardness test kit for rotary drive High temperature (up to 1200°C) 0.375
3. Place of Performance
