About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the 2026 SHADOZ Ozonesonde Station Radiosonde/Interface Order. The requirement involves the procurement of radiosondes and ozone interface kits to support long-term atmospheric measurement stations at three locations: Wallops Island, Natal Brazil, and Hanoi Vietnam. Specifically, the order calls for 100 units plus 120 units of different radiosonde models, and 146 units plus 55 units of different ozone interface kit models. These products are essential for maintaining the continuity of multi-decadal balloon-borne ozone profile records used for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trend analysis, and climate studies. The equipment must ensure consistency with existing SHADOZ records and compatibility with ground data collection systems currently operational at the Natal and Hanoi stations.
The scope of work requires station operators to prepare, launch, and collect data from the radiosondes, then transmit the collected data to NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, Maryland. The work will be performed at all three SHADOZ ozonesonde station locations. This order represents approximately one year's supply of radiosondes and equipment with an expected delivery date of November 30, 2026.

STATEMENT OF WORK
2026 SHADOZ Ozonesonde Station Radiosonde/Interface Order
Background
The Wallops Island, and Natal, Brazil, and Hanoi, Vietnam, long-term SHADOZ ozonesonde measurement stations need to continue their multi-decadal balloon borne ozone profile record for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trends, and climate studies. This requirement is for 100 ea. + 120 ea. (different models) radiosondes and 146 ea. + 55 ea. (different models) ozone interface kits. The radiosondes and equipment are required to ensure consistency with the existing SHADOZ records, and compatibility with the ground data collection systems currently in place at Natal and Hanoi.
Scope
The operators at the SHADOZ stations shall prepare, launch, and collect the data from the radiosondes, and send the data to NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, MD.
Place of Performance
This work will be performed at Wallops Island, and also the Natal, Brazil, and Hanoi, Vietnam, SHADOZ ozonesonde stations.
Period of Performance
This order represents an approximately one-year supply of radiosondes and equipment with an expected delivery date of 30 November 2026.
