Extension to NASA Contract 80NSSC25PC012 to UCF/FSI – Lunabotics 2026 University Challenge

This document is an extension and Statement of Work addendum to an existing NASA contract with the University of Central Florida (UCF) and Florida Space Institute (FSI) for the Lunabotics 2026 University Challenge competition. The contract period is extended through September 30, 2026, with a $100,000 funding increase to support expanded competition management services and facility requirements. The extension funds four primary service categories: Additional Program Management support ($19,000) to manage extended 2026 operations, conduct weekly coordination meetings with NASA and judges, and prepare final project management documentation; Astronaut Memorial Foundation (AMF) facility rental ($40,000) for the Center for Space Education (Building M6-306) at Kennedy Space Center Visitor's Center to support the top ten competing teams during the May 19-21, 2026 final competition; Personal Protective Equipment and supplies ($16,000) including N-95 masks, Tyvek suits, goggles, gloves, footwear covers, and safety supplies per NASA safety requirements; and Student Lunabotics Scholarships ($25,000) to award prize money to qualified student competitors at the closing ceremony on May 21, 2026.

The AMF facility rental scope includes securing access to multiple rooms and areas within Building M6-306 for competition activities: the Artemis Arena (9010) with regolith bin, RoboPits central area for robot assembly, audio-visual presentation area, judges' room, informational seminars room, and team presentation areas. The contractor must coordinate all AMF contracting and scheduling requirements and follow security protocols established by NASA and Kennedy Space Center. The competition schedule spans May 11-28, 2026, with rehearsal day on May 18, opening ceremony and challenge runs on May 19-20, and closing ceremony on May 21. Detailed facility setup requirements are specified in Appendix A, including pit configurations (11 team pits of 10'x10' and 4 inspection pits of 16'x10'), PPE donning areas, broadcast facilities, judges preparation room, mission control center with divider screens, and HEPA-Vac shop temporary facility. All deliverables include the Extended Project Management Summary Report (September 30, 2026), AMF Facility Rental Contract (March 31, 2026), PPE and Consumables Inventory and Expenditure Summary (April 30, 2026), and Scholarship Distribution Report (June 30, 2026).
