About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA's requirement for two high-fidelity replicas of the Orion Crew Survival System (OCSS) suit for Artemis II outreach and public engagement activities. The contractor must design, fabricate, and deliver two complete replica suits, including two additional helmets and two additional sets of gloves, with specific construction requirements such as a nylon restraint layer, removable machine-washable liner, orange cover layer with Velcro patch panels, leather-palmed gloves, and helmets with movable visors and wire support systems.

The project has a defined performance timeline, with work commencing no later than mid-September 2025 and full delivery of suits, helmets, gloves, and protective cases required by November 1, 2025, to support Artemis II milestones. Deliverables must match detailed specifications, with an emphasis on visual accuracy, durability for transport and handling, and potential use of plastic components where structurally or cost-appropriate. All items will be delivered to NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, and will undergo inspection for workmanship, durability, and fidelity prior to acceptance.
