About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA's procurement of custom Zylon Poly-Benzobisoxazole (PBO) webbing with specific technical requirements. The document outlines two primary webbing configurations: a 3-inch width and a 4-inch width, both meeting MIL-T-87130 Type XI Class 15 specifications. Each configuration requires 2,600 yards of webbing with precise technical parameters, including specific warp and fill specifications using Zylon filaments, and must be produced using a captured shuttle loom.

The SOW specifies delivery to NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, with a delivery timeline of no later than 20 weeks after contract award. Additional requirements include providing Material Certification Data Sheets for each lot, with documentation to be sent to Robert Mosher via email. The contractor must also minimize ultraviolet light and humidity exposure during storage, manufacturing, and inspection processes. This solicitation is a sole-source contract intended for Bally Ribbon Mills, identified as the sole provider of this specialized Zylon webbing.
